The 5 Best Video Game Soundtracks You Might Not Have Heard.

Here are some less obvious games that have nice music in no particular order. Zelda has nice music but you probably know that already. You might not like the music to Zelda, in which case you might not like the other music that I have selected based on my own musical preferences.

  1. The Urbz: Sims in The City The Xbox version was different from the DS version and not as good. The music wasn’t as good either. I think the Xbox one was advertised as having music by the Black Eyed Peas, but I prefer the music for the DS version. If you do ever play this game, keep the rubbish piles because you need them later but they don’t spawn.
  2. Just Cause Some of the music sounds like a porn soundtrack according to my Mum, and she should know – she’s done a few. As well as the porn music, there is some relaxing guitar music and some woman going aaaahhhhh when you skydive. It’s good. Just Cause II doesn’t have as nice a soundtrack. I would recommend buying Just Cause first and then Just Cause II because it’s really hard to play without the grapple. I think a sign that a series is getting better is whether or not you can play the older games without getting annoyed at lack of features.  Sometimes, it can be as easy as introducing running shoes that make the previous games seem slow.
  3. Viva Piñata Filled with fun and good music. There’s not that much music, but it’s all nice stuff. It’s calming which suited the mood of the game. The first game second game are virtually identical.  You can probably get the first one for about a fiver now so I recommend it. It’s got the Ohijamn sea lover prove all. I’ve never seen that written so I hope that’s how it’s spelled.
  4. Hexic HD This reminds me of 76:14 by Global Communication, but it’s a bit less ambient. There are more beats and it sounds a bit more evil in some places. Great stuff.
  5. Halo 3: ODST This sold quite a few copies so maybe it shouldn’t be on this list, but it should be, because I’m running out of ideas. The soundtrack sounds sadder than the other Halo games, but it’s a pleasant listen even though you know everyone dies eventually. Don’t worry, I haven’t really given away the plot to Halo 3: ODST; I’ve given away the plot to Halo Reach. The music is mostly simpler than the other Halo games and feels less generic. It’s got some jazzy sax going about on it.
